CLARIFICATION
Due to the confusion which has arisen among certain parties, the Safety Investigation Team (the Investigation Team) for MH370 clarifies that the Interim Statement and Factual Information released on 8th March 2015 are not intended to be a comprehensive report with analysis, conclusions and recommendations. It is further clarified that as provided in Chapter 6, paragraph 6 of Annex 13, an interim statement made publicly available on each anniversary of the occurrence is only required to detail the progress of the investigation and any safety issues raised. The Interim Statement of 8th March 2015 satisfies this requirement. As provided in the Appendix to Annex 13, it is the Final Report in the ICAO-specified format that must include the factual information, analysis, conclusions and safety recommendations of the Investigation Team.
